These yummy three ingredient biscuits are so easy to make!

Most of us have a crutch when it comes to certain foods, right? Like sweets or chips or whatever. Mine is bread. Anything bread. Buttered, toasted…any shape, any color, flavor, I’m there.

These homemade biscuits are SO heavenly. They taste similar to the cheddar biscuits at Red Lobster. Is your mouth watering yet?

The best part is they are soooo simple. This is the easiest bread recipe I've found...only three ingredients:

The three ingredients for this easy biscuit recipe:

1 cup self-rising flour
1/2 cup butter (softened)
1 package (8 oz) softened cream cheese

That’s it! Preheat your oven at 400 degrees and then mix these together in a large bowl.

Now I added a couple extras this time to amp them up even more (they don’t need anything but I like to play around with tried and true recipes).

You just mix the three ingredients together. The biscuit dough will be very thick:

One little addition I made this time was a bit of shredded cheddar cheese. Just a sprinkle, maybe a few tablespoons?

Another bonus with this recipe -- no rolling pin needed! I scooped them out into a greased pan using my ice cream scoop:

I use this more for baking than I do for ice cream. ;)

When I had just a bit left to scoop out, I added some dill to the mixture:

I LOVE dill and my sis suggested it – brilliant. I only added it to the last few cause I didn’t think my husband would like them with it.

This recipe makes over a dozen biscuits because I make them smaller. When you put them on the baking sheet you can place them pretty close together because they don’t spread much while baking.

Bake them in a preheated oven at 400 degrees for 15-17 minutes or until they start to get golden brown, and then ENJOY their buttery, crumbly goodness:

Go ahead and eat one or three right off the baking sheet. I wouldn’t know anything about that.

More variations on these easy rolls!

  • Add jam or drizzle some honey on top for a sweet treat.
  • Eat with sausage gravy for a delicious breakfast.
  • Add other herbs or cheeses to change up the taste a bit.

They are seriously amazing. I make them when we entertain and they’re always a hit.

If you’re planning your Thanksgiving or Christmas meal they would be a great addition. Let me know if you try them out! :)

Oh yum! I'll have to try these.

A tip I learned from...Joy the Baker, I think...put your biscuits close together so that as they cook, they'll touch each other and that will make them rise more.

I am so glad you mentioned roadhouse. I was a service manager and worked there for ten years, I bet I've eaten thousands of rolls from there!!

these sound (and look) yummy! i might have to try making these for Thanksgiving, since one of my family's "traditions" is leaving the (store bought Pillsbury type) dinner rolls in the oven and forgetting about them and burning them! :) this way we'll have a delicious backup! :)

Anything with cream cheese is the bomb and I know for sure I am going to have to try these. So easy. You mentioned the garlic cheese biscuits as Red Lobster, you really must try them with the caramel ice cream sauce. I know it sounds disgusting but a little waitress at the Red Lobster by us made us try it and it was da bomb. Really! Anyway, thanks for the recipe. I am always looking for easy.

I make these except instead of cream cheese I use sour cream and sometimes add in some chives. So good! I've never thought to serve them at Thanksgiving. I think I might do that this year!

Oh, my, these look wonderful! Biscuits were with every meal when I was growing up. Now that I can no longer eat gluten, I have been trying to find a good recipe. I think I'll give this a try with gluten-free baking mix. Fingers {and toes} crossed! :)

These sound amazing! Does anyone know if this recipe needs to be adjusted for high altitude cooking? I live near Denver and have to adjust some recipes so they rise correctly, but not sure if that's needed for these. Any advice would be appreciated!

so i just had to comment again...i just made 2 batches of these and they are absolutely heavenly!!! the first batch looked way too dry so i added a tablespoon of milk... whoops! they ended up spreading out and kind of look more like cookies, but they taste exactly the same. the second batch i left out the milk and just went with it, and they look exactly like yours above. i'm confident the fam will be impressed tomorrow, as long as i can keep my hands off of them that long!! :) thanks again for this awesome super quick easy and amazingly delicious recipe!! i think i will be making these all the time!!

Ladies & Gents, if you want a good crusty biscuit cook them in your muffin tins. The gravy loves these biscuits with nice crust all the way around
